This year there were two awards up for grabs, ‘Employee of the Year Award’ and ‘Department of the Year Award’.
The individual award was determined by the number of votes from other employees who had to provide a nomination as to who they thought should win and why. The entries were varied and included a selection of employees from different departments. Thereafter, the Management Team narrowed this down to only a few nominations. The runners up were Sue Tough, our receptionist, and Charlie Mahon, an apprentice within our Residential Conveyancing Department.
Travan Chandler, a Trainee Paralegal within our Wills and Probate Department was the ultimate winner, taking away an engraved plaque and gift voucher. One nomination for Travan commented: “Travan is a genuine asset to the company, she will go above and beyond to help colleagues and Clients alike.”
The ‘Departmental Award’ was however judged differently. The Company Directors, Steve Hill, Che Shing Li and Robert Foster selected the winning team, along with the help of our HR Manager, Marie Leary. Their decision was based on their customer service, feedback, team work, ability to keep on top of their workload and exceed targets. The Residential Conveyancing Department, which consists of Paulina Wegorkiewicz, Richard Strange, Cameron Hill and Charlie Mahon, took away the trophy.
A recognition speech was given by Che Shing Li, Managing Director of Hodgkinsons, which was dedicated to various other departments and highlighted their achievements this year. Mentioned departments included the Marketing Department which was recently introduced in May 2018, the Civil Litigation Department who have recently exceeded expectations and the Administration Team who are responsible for all the work behind the scenes.
Award ceremonies such as this provide employees with the recognition they deserve to allow them to develop and progress their careers.
