The Lexcel accreditation is a ‘legal practice quality mark’ that is assessed on the basis of Client care, compliance, and practice organisation and is awarded to firms who guarantee quality management and provide a top-rated service for Clients.
The Lexcel quality mark allows those firms that meet the highest standards of Client service and expertise to be awarded and recognised, with only 17% of firms, as of August 2023, receiving the certification.
In order to achieve the accreditation, Hodgkinsons Solicitors were required to undergo an annual Lexcel audit, involving a comprehensive assessment by an experienced legal assessor. This assessment involved carrying out various reviews, including reviewing numerous policies, files, risk assessments, and reports, as well as conducting employee interviews.
The Lexcel accreditation is not only a benchmark for firms to keep track of their practice development, but is also an invaluable tool for Clients when choosing who they would like to be represented by. Research shows that Clients who choose firms under the Lexcel accredited scheme will experience more timely responses to correspondence, more accurate cost estimates, and more detailed explanations of how charges are calculated.
In conclusion of the recent audit, we are delighted to share that Hodgkinsons Solicitors continue to be a member of the certified Law Society scheme and have successfully gained re-accreditation to Lexcel. After assessing our policies, practices, and procedures, we have been advised that Hodgkinsons’ “double gold standard” places the firm in the top 2% of all those audited under the scheme.
