Since joining the Company in 2012, Kelly has worked in several different departments but soon found her passion within our Commercial Department. Working closely with Robert Foster (Director and Head of our Commercial Department) and Reece Brant (Licensed Conveyancer) she has a varied and in-depth knowledge of how the running of different file matters progress and the various stages that need to be followed to ensure the files run smoothly and reach a swift transaction.
We recently had a chat with Kelly to find out what this recent promotion means for her:
What has been the main driving force that has pushed you into becoming a Trainee Fee Earner?
I have worked within a few departments at Hodgkinsons but feel I really came into my own when I began working in the Commercial Property Department. Over the years I have gained experience, knowledge and developed a real passion for commercial property which has pushed me to go further in my career to enable me to assist my peers in every aspect of Commercial Law.
What do you like most about working with our Commercial Clients?
Commercial Clients bring a wide variety of complex matters, so no two days are ever the same! I love that I get to use my experience and skill set to provide a smooth transaction and provide excellent Client satisfaction.
What is your plan for the next 5 years?
My plan is to continue to learn and absorb the knowledge in my current role and to develop in areas which are more in-depth within Commercial Property transactions. This will then enable me to further support those around me within the Team and provide vital assistance.
Robert Foster comments ‘Since joining our Company, Kelly has shown great initiative and an ability to act on that whilst providing essential support and assistance to me. She has taken on responsibility for a number of administrative and support roles which are essential to the Department and its efficiency to enable me to concentrate my time and efforts in the more complex matters that the Department has to deal with.’
Moving forwards, as Kelly works more closely with Rob and Reece she will develop a greater knowledge and understanding of the more technical aspects of Commercial matters which will inevitably increase not only the support and assistance she provides to Rob and his team but also the support, assistance and understanding to Clients to enable us to meet their needs and requirements.
Kelly always shows exceptional determination and a level of skill when working on any of our files and has recently transformed our working practices within the Department, helping it to run smoothly and efficiently. This is a real credit to Kelly’s ability and Hodgkinsons look forward to watching her flourish even more in her new role.
