Daisy joined Hodgkinsons Solicitors in July 2021 as an Apprentice, having recently completed her studies at John Spendluffe Technology College, Alford. Throughout her education, Daisy studied a comprehensive mix of studies, specialising in Business, ICT, Graphic Design, and History. Studying such an eclectic range of subjects challenged Daisy to think technically, analytically, and yet creatively. As an avid reader, Daisy particularly enjoyed studying English. An interesting fact about Daisy is that she loves reading classic books, with her favourites being Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, and Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte.
To help you get to know Daisy a bit more, we asked her a few questions about her new role with us here at Hodgkinsons and this is what she had to say:
Why did you want to become an Apprentice?
I decided to apply for the apprenticeship opportunity at Hodgkinsons Solicitors purely because of my interests in law. I am due to undertake the Level 3 Business Administration course alongside working and I am looking forward to it! The thing I am looking forward to the most about working at Hodgkinsons is learning on the job, which will allow me to continuously enhance my personal development. In just the few days I have worked here I have already learnt so much and cannot wait to learn more!
Why did you choose to work and study part-time?
I am an advocate of the work-study scheme because it allows me to obtain first-hand experience in an industry I have always wanted to work in since I was young. I love to study and this played in my favour whilst I was at school, where I obtained an award for the ‘Best Improved Student’ because of this. Having only recently graduated from school, my role here at Hodgkinsons is my first so everyday is a learning experience for me. I am thoroughly enjoying the newfound responsibility that comes with working.
What do you hope to achieve through your Apprenticeship?
I would love to eventually become a Paralegal. I am very dedicated to studying law in my own time to make my dream a reality. I always planned on going to college to study A-levels, but my goal was always to work in a law firm. Unbeknown to me, this was going to be sooner than what I had anticipated! I am extremely thankful for the opportunity and cannot wait to see what is to come.
