Local Lawyer Treks Snowdon For Charity

At 2am on Saturday 27th July, Tina Hill joined her team of climbers to trek up Mount Snowdon, located in Wales. The distance covered was approximately 18 miles and the trek was completed in 7 hours. After setting off at 2.30am on Saturday morning, the Team reached the summit at 6.30am before they made their descent back down. Trekking the highest mountain in England and Wales during the daytime presents a significant challenge in itself, therefore, reaching the peak by using a head torch to light the way through the dark brings another sense of achievement to an already recognised feat.

By taking on this challenge, Tina originally set herself a target to raise a minimum of £250.00 which will be donated to St Barnabas Hospice Lincolnshire. St Barnabas is a local charity who provide palliative care to those living with a terminal or life-limiting illness within Lincolnshire. For the previous three years St Barnabas have been Hodgkinsons’ charity of choice due to the emotional connection that some employees have with this charity.

To congratulate Tina on this fantastic achievement the Team at Hodgkinsons Solicitors held a bake sale on Monday 29th July in aid of Tina’s challenge. The proceeds raised from the in-house bake sale contributed to Tina’s cause to boost the sum of money she has already raised. Through this challenge alone, Tina has successfully managed to raise £638.75 for St Barnabas which is £388.75 more than her original target!

Tina Hill, a Lawyer within the Wills and Probate Department commented: “The trek was definitely challenging at points, but I believe that my adventurous spirit, open mind and willing sense of adventure got me through it. The feeling of knowing that you are taking part for such a worthy cause makes it very much worthwhile and I hope that I have made St Barnabas proud.”
