Marie Leary joined the Team at Hodgkinsons Solicitors, Skegness, just over two years ago in the role of the in-house HR Manager. Through her own initiative, she has integrated herself into all aspects of the business, from practice management to dealing with compliance issues. Since starting her position, Marie has been appointed many other duties such as being the Data Protection Officer (DPO) and the Deputy Senior Reporting Officer (SRO).
Over the past two years Marie has helped to shape the culture of Hodgkinsons through practice, procedures and Company policies. To aid Hodgkinsons’ Company culture, Marie has been responsible for setting up in-house departments including a Social Committee, Funding Group and a Health and Safety Team.
Marie has become invaluable to all aspects of the Company. To acknowledge Marie’s consistent efforts and enthusiasm, Hodgkinsons’ Directors Steve Hill, Senior Director, Che Shing Li, Managing Director, and Robert Foster, Director, invited Marie to become the Assistant Director of the Company, to which she accepted. Marie is the Company’s first female Assistant Director since Hodgkinsons Solicitors was established in 1981.
Che Shing Li, Managing Director commented: “We are delighted to have welcomed Marie as our new Assistant Director. Marie is an asset to our Company, and we are looking forward to seeing more of the excellent work that she does to help make Hodgkinsons the Law Firm of choice in Lincolnshire.”
Marie’s role within the Company will continue to focus on Human Resources, Compliance and Heath and Safety but with the additional responsibilities of overseeing all of the operations which lay the foundations of the business. Previously, as the HR Manager, Marie worked with the employees of Hodgkinsons to assist their personal development. In the future years Marie is determined to continue working with individual staff members to ensure that they are given the opportunity and support for their own career development.

Going forward Marie’s aims are to work with the Directors to achieve continuous expansion of the Company and to continue to work with employees to promote their own development and expertise. Marie is particularly keen to work with apprentices and junior staff members to ensure they are given the appropriate training, support and opportunity to progress their careers, and one day watch them to become the future Directors of the Company.
