In April 2021 Sam Sleight committed himself to taking part in the ‘Don’t Quit, Get Fit’ challenge to raise vital funds for a charity close to his heart, St Barnabas Hospice Lincolnshire. This challenge is hosted by St Barnabas but allows Sam to choose the extent of his challenge in which he has pledged to cycle across 400 miles of Lincolnshire terrain throughout the month of May.
This is an exceptional commitment. To complete the challenge, Sam will need to cycle 13 miles a day to accomplish his mission. Sam has a fundraising goal of £400.00 which equates to a donation of £1.00 per mile.
The money raised will contribute to the fantastic work that St Barnabas Hospice Lincolnshire do. It will allow them to continue to provide palliative care to those living in Lincolnshire with a terminal or life limiting disease.
Sam Sleight commented: “Throughout the past year charities have really struggled, which is why I wanted to take on this challenge. I am keen to raise as much money as possible through this challenge, in order to aid the survival of the fantastic charity that is St Barnabas. It would be devasting if our community was to lose valuable organisations such as this, but we can all do our bit to help to prevent this.”
Sam’s bike challenge will be live as of Saturday 1st May, but if you wish to sponsor now, you can do so by heading to his Just Giving page by clicking here.
