400 Miles in May Challenge

Sam Sleight, Head of Dispute Resolution here at Hodgkinsons Solicitors, Skegness, has pledged to cycle 400 miles throughout the month of May 2021 to raise vital funds for local charity, St Barnabas Hospice Lincolnshire.

In April 2021 Sam Sleight committed himself to taking part in the ‘Don’t Quit, Get Fit’ challenge to raise vital funds for a charity close to his heart, St Barnabas Hospice Lincolnshire. This challenge is hosted by St Barnabas but allows Sam to choose the extent of his challenge in which he has pledged to cycle across 400 miles of Lincolnshire terrain throughout the month of May.

This is an exceptional commitment. To complete the challenge, Sam will need to cycle 13 miles a day to accomplish his mission. Sam's fundraising goal was £400.00 which equates to a donation of £1.00 per mile. However, after successfully raising £400.00 within the first week, Sam increased his fundraising goal to £600.00. We are thrilled to announce that just three weeks into his challenge, Sam has successfully raised £600.00!

The money raised will contribute to the fantastic work that St Barnabas Hospice Lincolnshire do. It will allow them to continue to provide palliative care to those living in Lincolnshire with a terminal or life limiting disease.

When we asked Sam why he chose to take on this challenge, this is what he said: “Throughout the past year charities have really struggled, which is why I wanted to take on this challenge. I am keen to raise as much money as possible through this challenge, in order to aid the survival of the fantastic charity that is St Barnabas. It would be devasting if our community was to lose valuable organisations such as this, but we can all do our bit to help to prevent this."

The Team here at Hodgkinsons Solicitors are incredibly proud to be supporting Sam throughout his mission, and we aim to help him to raise as much as possible. Every penny raised will go to St Barnabas Lincolnshire Hospice.

Sam’s bike challenge will be live as of Saturday 1st May 2021, but if you wish to sponsor now, you can do so by heading to his Just Giving page by clicking here

Throughout the month of May we will be sharing updates of Sam's endevours across our social media platforms. Follow us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn to keep up to date with Sam's journey!
