Local Lawyer Takes Charity Cycling Challenge to the Next Level

On 1st May 2021 Sam Sleight, Head of Dispute Resolution at Hodgkinsons Solicitors, Skegness, began his challenge to cycle 400 miles in May to raise vital funds for a charity close to his heart, St Barnabas Lincolnshire Hospice. However, just 11 days in, Sam has already achieved great distances and therefore, has pledged to up the ante.

Local Lawyer Takes Charity Cycling Challenge to the Next Level

St Barnabas Lincolnshire Hospice, is a charity of great significance to Sam and due to the struggles charities have faced throughout the pandemic, in April 2021 Sam made a pledge to help contribute to the future of this charity. In his pledge he committed to cycling 400 miles throughout May, in order to raise £400 for this charity.

So far Sam has cycled 183 miles, which is an average of 16.6 miles a day, meaning he only needs to cycle a further 217 miles to complete his challenge!

St Barnabas provide free, compassionate end-of-life care and support to those affected by a life-limiting or terminal illness. Every year they support move than 10,500 people across Lincolnshire. £400 is a significant amount of money, and every penny raised goes towards supporting the future of this charity. To put it into perspective, £20 allows St Barnabas to care for a patient in their own home for one hour, and £34 funds a physiotherapy session for a patient.

Just imagine what £400 could do!

With this in mind, the Team here at Hodgkinsons are very proud to announce that just 11 days into his challenge, Sam has exceeded his fundraising target and raised £485!

In light of this, and with 20 days of his challenge left to go, Sam has taken the decision to increase his fundraising goal to £600!
