China Challenge 2019

In August 2018 two of our employees put themselves forward to trek The Great Wall of China in support of St Barnabas. The trek took place in October 2019, giving the girls just one year to train and complete their mission of not only walking the wall but raising £9,059.66!

In 2019 Hodgkinsons proudly launched our first ever charity ball in support of St Barnabas Hospice Lincolnshire. All profits of the evening contributed towards the Great Wall of China trek in support of this particular charity.

On Friday 5th July 2019, Hodgkinsons Solicitors hosted a night of entertainment, and most of all, fundraising. The evening was presented by Melvyn Prior from BBC Radio Lincolnshire and consisted of a variety of entertainment including performances by Liam Madison and magician, Mark Farrell. Aside from the entertainment guests also had the chance to participate in fundraising activities, raffles and much more!

The exclusive Black-Tie event took place at the North Shore Hotel on Friday 5th July, from 7.30pm until late. Many individuals and businesses alike gathered together to help raise as much money as possible. The event was kindly sponsored by leading companies including Kirks Quality Foods, Fix Auto Skegness, Just Audi Lincoln, Premex Group, Forrester Boyd & FB Wealth Management, Print Quest, SPH Legal Costs Experts and Price Whiting Hodgson Financial Planning.

All profits gratefully received from the evening contributed towards the trek along The Great Wall of China on behalf of St Barnabas Hospice Lincolnshire. The fundraising goal for the evening was £5,000.00, which was successfully acheived as the total sum raised was £5,617.47! The money raised will help St Barnabas to continue providing care to those living with life limiting or terminal illnesses within Lincolnshire. The ultimate fundraising goal for the challenge was to raise over £6,500.00. This significant amount of money will help St Barnabas to provide community and supportive care as well as inpatient and acute hospital support. Hodgkinsons are proud to announce that through the China Challenge 2019 we have raised £9,059.66 for St Barnabas which is £2,809.66 over the initial goal!
